IR Thermometers can measure environment temperature as well as the temperature of a specific surface. They are useful as it allows the user to measure temperature from a distance. It is worth mentioning that the measuring area has to be bigger than the measuring object. Usually they come in form of handheld devices that are very simple to use. Some IR Thermometers are used to measure temperature if there is any danger of mould growing on top of a measured surface. This is called the Dew Point. It can indicate any ventilation problems within measured area. Water droplets condensate on a surface and dew can form.

 

We can detect this process and apply anecessary solution before mould starts to grow. IR Thermometers are pre-calibrated by manufacturers but because of some internal and external factors it is recommended to be re-calibrated over time. Usually it should be done every 6 to 12 months. There are specialised laboratories that can perform IR Thermometer calibration. One of them is AMECaL. We are specialised in temperature calibration and can guarantee that your testing equipment would be able to produce the most accurate results. 

 

AMECaL offers two types of services to our clients. IR Thermometers can be calibrated in accordance to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 international standard (ISO 17025 IR Thermometer calibration) or the British National Standard (traceable IR Thermometer calibration).
