An Insulation tester (Ohm meter) is an electrical test instrument used to measure the insulation resistance of the electrical system. There are digital (battery operated) and analog (hand operated) versions of this type of equipment. It uses ohms (Ω) as its unit of measurement.  A Microohmmeter (micro ohmmeter) measures low resistance and Megaohmmeter measures large resistance. Most modern Insulation Testers are lightweight and feature an LCD screen, wireless data transfer, live circuit warnings, power saving mode and are perfect for commercial and domestic use.
